Is your cars A/C as cool as it should be?

It is a little known fact that your cars Air Conditioning system is not part of any regular servicing schedule.
To run effectively and efficiently it is advisable to have the refrigerant changed every 18 months, as acids are produced by the air conditioning process & if left in the system they can cause severe damage to the A/c system leading to an expensive repair.
There will be over a period of time leakage of the refrigerant gas due to a number of reasons, the vehicles engine vibrates, pipe work moves, the rubber 'O' rings expand and contract & little use during the winter months also dries out the seals, all allowing leakage of the refrigerant gas and system oil.
When the gas levels get low the system will shut down, the biggest threat to the Air/con system is the lack of compressor oil, when you lose gas you will also lose oil and if the oil is not replaced at regular servicing intervals the compressor will eventually stop and possibly seize up with very costly consequences.
Preventative maintenance is cheaper than a costly cure!!
